They're coming to get you!
Gotta love those classic zombie games.
This is another personal favorite of
mine. Released in 1993, even though it had 16 bit graphics, they were exceptionally good because they used darker color schemes than a lot of the other video games of the time and it made the picture seem more creepy to go with the genre. The sound was also real crisp and was superb for the time.
Graphics Rating: 4.5/5
The story isn't really developed all you know is that there are zombies and a whole bunch of other monsters, but you never find out how they got there. Anyways there are two playable characters and it's your duty to rid the world of these monsters and save as many survivors as you can.
Storyline Rating: 3/5
Zombies Ate my Neighbors has so many greats that I really can't sum it up in one post. The game itself parodies many classic horror flicks of the time which makes it all the better. There are many special weapons you can use (like a push lawnmower) to kill all those zombies, my personal favorite is the potion that makes you into a big monster thing and you can kill the zombies and other creatures with one swing. Anyways I recommend this game greatly.
of the two versions, sound quality is better on the Genesis, but the graphics seem to be more crisp on the SNES. Gameplay wise, the controls feel SOOOO much better on the SNES than the Genesis, I think it's because, in my opinion I like the SNES layout of the controllers a lot better.
